Raiding Guide for beginners and advanced players in Rust ✅

Raiding is one of the most important, most liked, hated, and also the hardest thing to do in Rust. The raiding mechanics in Rust are constantly getting changed and balanced patch by patch as players discover new exploits, or just new ways how to easily raid enemy bases. Currently, it seems like raiding is in a final phase and the basic mechanics won't change much anymore. The following guide will show you how to raid in rust structures / bases the simplest way. Herefore i developed a Rust guide about effective strategys in different areas. The raid in rust is a very essential part of Rust. Through raids in Rust you can steal ressources, weapons and conquer other bases.

Basics Guide🕹 How to conquer bases in Rust

The Tool Cupboard

This is one of the most important build items in Rust when you want to build a "safe" base. Getting access to the tool cupboard will allow you to easily raid in rust the whole base as well as giving you the access to build protection and potentially grief a base later (overtake the base).

These tools should you use for attacks in Rust

Almost every tool in Rust does Damage to structures. On the end of this article you will find a detailed table about all weapons and tools in Rust and its Damage to wood, stone, metal, and sheet meal structures. Here is a big overview of the items you can use for raiding or conquer bases in the survival game Rust.

Soft side vs. hard side

* First of all in this Rust guide i will explain you how to distinguish hard walls from soft walls with your eyes. When building a base in rust, it is very importand that you place your walls the right way. Building a base with the soft sides of walls on the outside can make your upgrades practically useless, because weapons and tools do extra damage to the soft (weak) side.

Wood walls can be easily shredded down to 11 health with just a single stone or metal hatchet from the soft side, and then finished off with anything else (a stone, spear, etc.). To give you a comparison: The hard side of a wall takes 3 hatchet hits to do 1 point of damage.

Stone walls from the outside take one damage per 8 pickaxe hits, but from the soft side takes 1.2 damage every hit (7 pickaxes for one stone wall). Sheet Metal, while being near impervious to melee from the outside, will take 1 damage every 2 pickaxe hits, as well as take damage from other tools. Armored walls can also be picked, albeit at a much slower rate, from the soft side with standard tools. All foundations will take damage as soft sides from above, and ceilings will be soft side from underneath and hard side from above.👇 You can also scroll down to read the "Raiding Guide" for special tips and strategies👇 .

Weapon Damage List

That are the weapons which you can use for our Raiding Guide in Rust. To raid bases in Rust you need to use items to destroy walls, doors or ladder hatches. In the table below you can see how much hits or number of each item it costs to destroy these. Please note, this table has all possible raiding items (plus a few more), just because they are on this page, does not mean they are viable raiding options.

Damage on walls is based on soft-side, grenades and charges do the same damage on both sides.

Here are 3 raiding mehtods and tactics about raiding effectively a base

🗼 Use Raid Towers for attacking 🗼

This is probably the most commonly method for raiding a base. The first step is about getting halfblocks, because then you can build a tower to get on the top of someone`s roof and enter the base from there. Many bases got a one by one cabinet structure surrounding the base in order to increase the radius of where you can´t build. So before we can build a raid tower we have to take out these one by one cabinet structure with c4 or break into it with some pickaxes. Now we are going to try to build as close as we can while standing out of the building block area. Now you stacking up with your halfblocks till you reached an height. Now select a floor and put near the base which you want to raid.Get ready for the jump and enjoy the raid !

⚒Tools are your best friend⚒

Now let´s move on to the next strategy of our rust guide. This is a strategy is made for a clan or a group of players.I do not recommend this method for single players but you can also do this if you are alone. So first you need a bunch of pickaxes and a workbench where you can repair your tools if they break. Make sure that nobody is in the base, because then this tactic is dangerous. Search a hideout for your workbench and place it there. So you got the possibility to withdraw if an enemy player is coming. After that you can start to break down the stone walls, it´s going to take a while so if you got more people it will definetely help. Good luck !

🔥 Using c4 guide 🔥

Thats the most simpliest method for getting access to a base. Just take c4 and put it on the walls which you want to destroy and take them out. But you should be careful and first consider which parts of the base you want to destroy because for instance if the loot chests are in the third floor. And you destroyed the staircase you aren´t able to collect the loot. So here´s a tip to avoid destroying the staircase, first destroy single parts of the wall like you can see through. I hope i could help you with my rust guide and I wish you a successful raid !

Here are the four best raiding items

Cheap raiding items suitable for beginners

Satchel charge

It´s a explosive craftable weapon which can be thrown on towers. So if you like to start a raid with a distance that´s a good raiding item for you. But there´s a risk that this explosive package won´t explode, so it´s recommended to wait a while before rushing into the base. It´s suitable for beginners because it doesen´t cost you much ressources you only need 4 beancan grenades, 1 small tash and 1 rope.

Beancan grenade

The beancan grenade is easy to craft and cost less ressources than the satchel charge. The disadvantage is that they can have a short fuse, a long fuse or a very long fuse. Sometimes they just don´t want to go off. So better wait a while before charging the enemy base.

Expensive raiding items suitable for advanced players

Rockets

Rockets are the most popular raiding tool currently for their incredible range and splash damage. You need a rocket launcher which costs you 100 high quality metal and 10 metal pipes. A single rocket costs you 10 explosives, 150 gunpowder and 2 metal pipes. Don´t forget that the rocket launcher will break after 23 rockets fired.

C4

C4 is the most common raiding tool in Rust. You can stick it into walls to deal massive damage (300-400 damage). There´s no splash damage on other walls so one c4 will only damage one wall. The crafting recept of c4 requiers 20 explosives, 5 cloth, and 3 tech trash. C4 got an incredible splash damage on players no matter which armor you wearing.
